Fresh Figs

Figs are literally the fruit of the Gods – the Greek god Apollo routinely feasted on them, the prophet Muhammad insisted they were a fruit sent from paradise, and India made the fig their national tree. They are versatile and can be eaten fresh, dried, roasted, stewed, preserved, added to salads or soaked in liqueur and served over yoghurt or ice-cream. Figs are in season right now so add a few in your shopping basket.

Shape Fact

Chewing gum can actually reduce your stress levels in tense situations. In a study at Swinburne University in Melbourne they found lower levels of salivary cortisol (a physiological stress marker) in gum chewers than in non-gum chewers during periods of mild and moderate stress.
